Climate change: whose problem is it?

Climate change is very serious news and debate these days. Some people say that it’s not happening, that is untrue because the climate is already changing rapidly.

Climate change is an effect from excessive pollution released to the atmosphere. This causes the temperature of the Earth’s surface to rise and cause serious problems, like climate change.

Climate change is the change in the behavior of the natural climate. This causes extreme storms and massive hurricanes all around the world. Like in the USA, rare F5 class hurricanes are more common these days.

Politicians are saying that climate change is a myth but scientists are saying that if we don’t stop polluting our world, by 2050 the climate will be too hostile for life to live and prosper. Scientists are predicting that, in the next 100 years, human beings will become extinct due to the effects of climate change.

Climate change has affected the lives of many, some in severe ways but some in minor ways. The major ways are like the ever so common F5 class hurricane in Louisiana and several other states in Hurricane Valley, USA, and a longer period of the El-Niño. The minor ways are like the increase in temperature in several areas in the world, like in Southeast Asia, and tundra areas such as Siberia. All of these changes are very harmful in the delicate balance of the ecosystem.

There are several ways of containing the effects of climate change. Firstly, we must reduce the expulsion of pollution to the atmosphere, like open field burning and also the internal combustion engine also known as cars, because pollution, like sulphur dioxide gas (HCO2) and carbon monoxide (CO) thins the protective ozone (O3) layer which protects us from the ultraviolet rays, thus causing the increase the Earth’s temperature.

The second way is to conserve energy use because the conversion of raw energy to electrical energy causes pollution, like the one stated in the first way. The conservation of energy also saves some money, and so the excessive energy can be used in other beneficial ways.

The third and last way is to stop nuclear weapons testing on land, for example, on Bikini Island, USA. This is because the explosion of nuclear weapons releases a harmful substance called Uranium-235, and Uranium-238. These substances are also responsible for the thinning of the ozone layer and also cause a serious threat to humanity.

So, climate change is a problem we must understand before it gets even more tragic than it already is. It’s not only the government’s responsibility to understand this problem but it’s our responsibility to stop it, too.
