Protecting our planet by 2026

In 2026, I will be 35 years old and there will be a lot more advanced technology than what there is now. The whole world will be able to communicate with one another much more easily that today. In order to enjoy the world of 2026, we will have to conserve our resources and use them properly now. Here are my ideas about how to use our resources properly so as to make them last a long time.

We need to recycle paper so that in 2026 we will still have lots of trees left on Earth. This means that we would have to have to start recycling paper more conscientiously now. Children like us could make a difference by making sure we don't write on another sheet of paper until both sides of the paper have been used.

We would have to find some other fuel to make our cars run. Every day we use cars and every day we are running out of oil and if we don't conserve it, soon there may be no oil left.

We need to stop wasting food. We should make sure that people plant more seeds for vegetables, plants and fruits, so that in 2026 we will still have enough to eat.

In 2026, we would have even more advanced technology and maybe with that technology we would be able to build better and bigger homes and places to stay in. Every day new babies are born and the world population is growing and so we need to have the technology to look after our increasing population.

We also have to stop polluting the air. As a first step, everybody should plant more trees. Trees take carbon dioxide in and let out oxygen and we need oxygen in order to survive. At the same time, we should stop polluting the air so as to make sure we all have clean air to breathe. We should be really focused on decreasing the amount of air pollution, especially that produced by factories and big industries.

Whenever you save energy, you also reduce the demand for such fossil fuels as coal, oil and natural gas. Less burning of fossil fuels also means lower amounts of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and better air quality. We should conserve electricity by turning off lights when we don't need them and switching off other electrical appliances when we don't need them. We will need a lot of electricity in 2026 because the population will be much larger and there will be many new homes, which will also need electricity. We will need other ways of generating electricity, such as using water from rain to generate electricity.

We should recycle our trash when we can. We should also not waste water. We should not litter. We should tell everyone to do all they can and tell everyone to stop making pollution!

What one child says will not change the world, but what all the children in the world say will make a big difference and make the world a much better place to live in. That's why it's important to spread the message: ‘Stop polluting the world and make it a better place for us all.' I will plant a tree on every birthday of mine and if all the children in the world did that, by the time I am 35 there would be a lot more trees in the world, giving us cleaner air and more food. They also help to conserve our soil.

I will study hard and become a scientist one day and develop new kinds of pollution-free fuel for cars to run on. That will both reduce our dependence on oil and keep our world free from pollution. Finally, remember that together we can protect the planet, but only if we want to. So, let us all want to make it a better place by 2026!
