Global citizenship and protecting our resources

To be a global citizen not only means taking care of your own country, it also means taking care of the whole world. We should think of ways to stop world hunger and make this world a better place to live in. We all have to try and help as much as we can. Even if it is a tiny little thing it is still worth doing and, trust me, it feels good when you do something good.

For example, one of the biggest issues facing the world right now is global warming. This is caused from the pollution that we all contribute to. All the people, who work in factories, are thinking only about themselves and their families. People who are working in jobs that are responsible for the emission of these gases don't realise that, even though they think they are sheltering, feeding and nurturing their generation, the next generation won't be there if they keep on polluting the planet. By acting as global citizens, we have to think of a way to stop global warming.

The other issue is that of global barriers. If we were one world, there would be fewer wars, because everything would have to be agreed to by all countries. There would be less racism in the world, because we would live together and learn how to respect each other. Also we may be able to do better things for this planet. If we are to be truly global citizens, we have to try to solve problems in the whole world, and also lead this planet to becoming united. Right now we are in different groups, trying to think of a way to make this planet a better place, but we don't share ideas with the rest of the world. If we keep doing this we may never rise to a state of universal prosperity and happiness.

If the world was one, we would be able to share our ideas. We would also share our resources like oil, money, and other natural resources.

To answer the question of how do we protect our planet, my answer is we can try and work together to save as many natural resources as we can by trying to make a new way to run cars. We have already started trying to invent different ways of running cars. We have tried running them on water and electricity and we are right now trying to use hydrogen to run cars. Up till now we haven't really found a way but in the near future we may achieve this goal.

If we become one world we would also be able to help the third world countries to get to the level of first world countries in terms of infrastructure, development, and education. So, if we could keep helping each other, we would all become equal. But if we don't stop global warming and wars, we will never achieve this goal.

So we have to be global citizens, because if we are not then in a few decades, global warming will probably destroy the whole Earth and everything we worked for would be lost.

We don't have a choice! We are the citizens of the globe whether we understand it or not. One of my teachers said you should treat the classroom like it is yours and respect it like how you respect your home. In the same way, we should respect the Earth like our own homes, because it is!
