Can we save our planet?
Maharaja Man Singh Vidyalaya
India
Once there was an excellent jeweller,
Of masterpieces he was the creator.
One of them was a pendant,
Studded with wonderful gems.
Such a creation was never before made,
Its magnificence never did fade.
But then came a ghostly dacoit,
Of concern, his heart was devoid.
He stole all the wonderful gems,
And misused each one of them.
The pendant lost all the brilliance,
And was given a dreadful stance.
Do you know who was the jeweller?
God Himself, the Almighty creator.
Our Earth was the wonderful pendant,
And global resources all the gems.
The resources, which were in abundance,
Have been destroyed by us, who are now tense.
Technology was the heartless dacoit,
Of selflessness whose creator's heart was devoid.
Who drained out the resources, the gems.
Alas! Never again did he see them.
The creator was none other than man,
Who was mad after radio, TV, and so on.
But he had no concern for the resources,
For his livelihood, which were sources.
And now rises a scary question
In our minds, which creates tension.
'Can we save our dear planet?'
Making our hearts sing a dreadful sonnet.
But to save our Earth we all must unite,
So that this problem we can together fight.
And give a safe and secure future,
Which will always be a teacher,
To this planet's future generations,
To think sensibly and have patience.
So as not to finish our global resources,
One way is to unite our forces.
And remember, if you want to avoid toil,
Start now, conserving oil.
And save every bit of natural gas.
So that the future won't be a mess.
And every wasted piece of coal,
Will make our future a hole.
And not to forget all the metals,
Take care of them like fresh rose petals.
And the plant's sacrifice, the wood,
Use it as little as you could.
And never do waste any water,
Else your life will be less than a quarter.
Let's make it our vocation,
To protect air from pollution,
By decreasing the number of vehicles;
Technology's children, they are devils.
So come, our hands let us join,
And conservation let us define.
As the parachute of our future,
Which is falling in a deep crater.
What we should do for a calm society,
Is globally conserve these gems of the Almighty.
