What's the world ahead of us going to be like? Are you ready for it?
There are the challenges ahead of water use and water security, food production and food security, energy use and energy security and climate change.
The future is ours to invent... This century is going to demand the best of us. We will need flexible, innovative, inspired and strong individuals and communities, ready to respond to the best of their abilities to the challenges ahead. We will need to examine our core values and place the worth of things above the cost of things. So what shape are we in? How well are we equipping our young people for the world ahead of them?
What is wealth?
Who owns the resources which give us fresh air and water, food and energy? How does this affect how they are used now? Should the same people own them in 2026? How should we value the planet's resources? Who should decide?
Living within limits
How can we live in ways that help rather than use up our environment?
Climate change is likely to make feeding 6.3 billion people more of a challenge.
How can we balance our energy wants against our energy needs?
Can we change the ways we produce and share food?
Production and consumption of resources
Do you really need that new 'must have' item? Why do we need so much more stuff than our grandparents? Why do we waste so much stuff?
The future is ours to invent
We can be global citizens. What skills will we need to overcome the challenges which global changes will bring in our lifetimes? How should education change to help us prepare for the 21st century?
