Changes

Agni
Indus International School
India

The world has evolved,
Many changes have taken place:
From stones,
To clubs,
To lances,
To automatic guns.

Along with these have come
Corruption, war, and terrorism.
They have brought sadness, fear,
And grief to everyone.

Peacemakers have come and passed,
But no saint can eternally last.
Without their guidance;
Leaders whip the innocent masses.

Men, women and children
Have all suffered from industrial building.
Pollution, poverty, racism
Have come too fast.

Today, tomorrow, the day after.
There is a big boom,
It is coming from the underground rooms.

People dying because of greed,
Diamonds are not a want,
But a 'need',
For those who love luxury,
And cannot live without it.
They are like an addiction,
To cocaine or weed.

What language does god speak?
What food does he eat?
That we don't know,
Because we haven't seen.
We only believe.

Why should humans weep?
Just because of god?
Should we be down-trod?

Drugs and power,
Are the key ingredients
To the global destruction soufflé.
All because of one man,
Put to power by one hell-born gang.

Where is hope, what is fate?
Please tell me the exact date.
Please tell me who?
Please tell me why?
'Cause all we've got to do is try.

No these times cannot go by:
Don't try to be sly.
Get out, get involved!
Just shout out
To all those devils,
Who made so many die!

You will be a champion.
A champion is not a winner who is tough.
A champion is a winner,
A hero.
Someone who never gives up,
Even when the going gets rough.

A champion is a member of
A winning team.
And not part of a big, fat dream.
A champion is an optimist,
A hopeful spirit,
Someone who plays the game,
Not joining the others in shame,
Even when the game is called life.

There can be a champion in each of us.
If we live as a winner,
If we live as a member of the team,
If we live with a hopeful spirit,
In the future we will be the kings and queens.
