Global peace: We can all make a difference

I am going to tell you about global peace. Before, I start this essay I just want to tell you that there is no global peace here on Earth. There are just wars and violence. Global peace is when cooperation takes place and people work together to fulfil each other's needs. Global peace is when there is peace across the globe and when everyone is satisfied. People have wars and fights for many things like land and water or to stop nuclear weapons.

Land is important for everyone in the world. A quarter of the Earth is made up of land and the rest is water. People are sometimes not satisfied with the land they have. Just because they want more land they start creating wars. The best example I can give you is between Pakistan and India where Pakistan wants Kashmir, which belongs to India. Before India's independence Mahatma Gandhi said that Kashmir would stay in India until he worked out the solution. Then he was shot. So from then on no one knew where Kashmir belongs, so India and Pakistan keep having a war. A country also gets more power if they get more land.

Water is really important for every living creature. If we don't drink water we will die. Three quarters of the Earth is filled with water and the rest of it is land. Every one shares water but people still aren't satisfied with how much water they have. They still want more, even if they have what they need. Sometimes people do not have a war over water but they damage all the government property, which belongs to their own state, so that the government will get more water for them. The best example I can give you is Karnataka, which is a state in India. An incident recently happened where Karnataka people damaged their own property so that they could get more water from Tamil Nadu, which is also another state in India.

Nuclear weapons can destroy the whole world because they have so much power in them. Nuclear radiation is really harmful to human health. It can cause many side effects like babies being born without their limbs or two babies attached to each other when they are born. Iran is in the process of making a lot of nuclear weapons. It wants to show its power to the small countries that surround it. The USA and the European countries have decided not to give food, shelter, medical care, foreign aid, medical equipment, technology and many other things to Iran. They have also told other countries not to supply anything to Iran so that they are punished for making nuclear weapons. If Iran still wants to bomb another country, the USA and the European countries would attack Iran. Everyone is expecting Iran to stop making nuclear weapons.

If there were global peace Earth would be a better place to live. I believe we should not have wars or violence. Be happy with how much land or water you already have. If you want to show your power show it through sports or studies and do not make nuclear weapons and bomb other countries. Please help bring peace to Earth.
