Working together to create global peace

My idea of peace is the absence of aggression, criticism and greed in every human. It is impossible to abolish these traits in humans, as they are all naturally present. However, there are some measures we can take which can contribute to reducing the violence and tension between countries. If we work together, we can live in a peaceful world and we will all benefit.

War is a state of hostility or struggle between two groups for various reasons. Wars have devastating consequences, including the killing of many courageous soldiers and innocent people. Billions of dollars are spent on soldiers, weaponry, research and rebuilding cities that have been destroyed. Recent wars are the Israel-Lebanon conflict, the war in Somalia and the Sa'dah conflict. Wars are caused for many reasons. The most common reasons are for territory, for resources, such as oil in the Middle East, for religious reasons, the dislike of other nations and also because of misunderstandings.

My ideas for preventing wars are that countries should be given equal amounts of land with the same quantity of resources. We should also make a global peace treaty where serious action can be taken if it is not abided by. We should provide help for people who are in danger and make countries have the same level of economic prosperity. We should make all countries moderately wealthy but not too rich, and we should donate money to the poor countries so they don't have to fight for money.

Another way to prevent wars is to create advertisements, or notices on popular internet sites, showing a movie of the damage caused by wars. They can also show how much money is spent on war and how many people are dying. The advertisements can show what the missiles and nuclear bombs do. We can also ban all of the weaponry, which causes damage on a large scale in the world. People who are actually interested in the advertisement can protest and ask the government to reduce the amount of wars so that people can live comfortably without having to move away from their houses because of the destruction. Another way is to send emails to people asking them to form groups, which can then help to reduce war.

Some people and organisations actually try to help prevent wars. The most important one is called the United Nations. The UN helps prevent wars by organising meetings with the leaders of the countries and discussing why they should not have a war. The UN was formed after World War Two. On 19 September 2006, they made the world agree to fight terrorism so there would be fewer wars. Like the UN, the whole world can act like this and so help every one achieve peace.

I think we have all learned how to stop wars and bring peace. The whole world will get to know how to stop wars if we all help. If we help people if they are in danger, donate money to all the poor countries and ban all weaponry, which causes damage on a large scale in the whole world, then we will have peace.
