Global peace will help the world

When I think about wars and fights, I feel bad for the people who have to go through them. Many people die fighting for their country. Those people are doing a good thing for their country but what about the civilians? Many civilians are getting killed every single day. We can't let that happen.

Global peace is something that will help the world. The only thing is how will we bring peace to the world. One way is by being a peaceful person. If we don't have the qualities of being a peaceful person then how will we ever get a peaceful world? I think the people of the past who have helped the world should be role models to everyone. Some people, like Mahatma Gandhi, have done a lot to make the world a better place. When their people were in need those people stood up for their country and fought. However, they fought non-violently, such as by protesting and going on strike. So, global peace doesn't mean you cannot fight for your rights, it means you should not fight violently.

To get global peace, every citizen has an important role to play, including children like me. There are so many ways we can help the world. We just need to start small. I don't mean lazing around, but I also mean not overdoing it. The things that you can do are very easy and can help a lot. For example, recently my class went to a nearby village orphanage and did a play for the children so that they could have fun. We also donated books. By helping others, I had a lot of fun. Another important thing is to always be truthful and responsible. These are things that even a small kid can do.

Being peaceful doesn't mean doing it only for a short while but doing it for your whole life. For this everyone needs to learn skills like conflict management. I think this should be taught in all of our schools. We should think of other ways to remain peaceful. People could have campaigns and fundraisers for peace. We can do a lot for the world.

One question that keeps coming into my mind is why do we need peace? Finally I found the answer. We need peace so that we can be people who don't start wars. Peace will help us move on in life. We learn about peace as we grow up; it's almost like a subject.

Each time I learn something new, like about environmental disasters, I feel like that is another thing to add to my list of saving the world. When I help the world I feel very happy inside. When the world becomes a better place to live in, everyone will be happy. The people of the world should work together to make it a better place.

Global peace is not for only one person to work on, it is for everyone on this planet, our Earth, to work on. For example, the world is like a puzzle: if two pieces don't fit together those two pieces will fight against each other. Global peace will help those pieces to not have a war. War is not the only thing that has to be stopped. We also need to end poverty and racism, and all people should be treated the same. One day I hope the world will have global peace. It is our responsibility and not anyone else's. The children of today can do a lot more!!
