I want to live in a peaceful world

'Live and let live' and 'let peace prevail' are some of the old sayings that have become obsolete in the modern world. As the 21st century progresses, our world gets smaller and smaller and smaller because of the people who make war. These war makers must be stopped before they end our precious and delicate lives.

Throughout the fascinating stories of history, the need and love of power has got us nowhere except for creating wars in every generation and in every part of the world. This has created a lot of bloodshed, which is not good, of course, for the human race. We must now try to replace this desire for power with love and dignity among us, so that we can live in a friendlier world with no bloodshed and wars.

Even today, the United States military uses billions of dollars in making deadly weapons of war, when that money could be better spent on good deeds. This money could become a saviour for the people who are not capable of doing what we can do. It could help those who cannot walk or talk. It could also help give a good education to many millions of people who are not able to afford one. If all this were followed we could have a safer and better planet to live on.

Scattered around the world, are many wonderful programs designed to avoid deadly conflicts. These programs include those of churches and service clubs. The only problems that we have are the people and corporations that make billions of dollars from the production of deadly and devilish weapons for war. Their greed and love of money and power bring us all closer to deadly wars and conflicts.

There are cases in history when bad people have had a change of heart and have changed into good human beings and led a long and happy life. We must hope that all the war makers are converted into good people and promise never to create a war against another country. What we need is a miracle: a miracle that will change the way war makers think about power over countries and greed over money. We must pray in all religions and languages. We must unite as Hindus, Muslims, Christians, Buddhists and all other religions to stop war and bring peace to our lovable planet Earth. Now is the time to act. We must now come together as a group of peaceful people and change the world, not by riots, or by protesting in a deadly way or by starting a deadly revolution. What we need to do is protest peacefully, start campaigns, stick posters up and write letters to the local newspaper company in every state and every country. We need to advertise on television about our campaign, and ask people whether they are interested in joining it. In this manner, we will change the way the world lives into a much better and more peaceful place. We have to act now or it will be too late.

If the direction of the future is not changed, new deadly weapons will be created and this will increase the chance of bloodshed and war in our world. Right now, if someone asked me what I think of this world that we live in, all I would say is that 'I am not happy with the way people live in this world. I mean our Earth is becoming a cold and silent graveyard of millions, no, billions of people because of wars and conflicts'. I want people to change. I want people to live in a much friendlier world.

My parents and my grandparents always say that it was hard to live in the olden days but I think exactly the opposite because as the world has made progress in all fields of life it has also deteriorated in terms of our tolerance of others. So, remember that we only have one sun and that we only have one world. We have to change it and bring peace to it, so that future generations will find it a better place to live in.
