Peace for the world

I drew this picture because I think it reflects what's going on around the world. I think the world needs to come together and stop any fighting or hatred. All war must be stopped!

Every day, every minute around the world people are getting killed from war and poverty, this should not happen! If everyone came together and helped each other in everyday life, there wouldn't be so much hatred and fighting. The whole world should unite as one and be at peace with each other.

It's four years since the war started in Iraq and it is still a dangerous and frightening country to live in. Many children are too scared to walk out of their own front door because there are too many explosions. They can't even go to school because both the children and parents are too scared of what's out there. Just four years ago, all the children could go out and play in places like parks and fairs with their family but they can't go any more because it's too dangerous. Children in the UK are safe, Baghdad is not safe! Many children would love to come to the UK just to be safe from the fighting. Not just children are affected by the war, all people in Iraq are affected!

People who have dads, mums, sons, daughters, aunties, uncles and all family members are waiting for the dreaded letter and hoping it will never come! About half a million civilians have died and many more have been injured! What are we gaining by this … nothing is the answer - just losing lives of innocent people!

What does war help?

Why do people have to sacrifice their life for nothing?

There is a way! You can help save the lives of hundreds of people, if everyone tries to keep peace with each other, even just one person can help, and if just one person helps, there is bound to be some other person who believes in what you are doing, and so on.

Therefore I think all war must be stopped. Just because people have different skin colours and different beliefs people shouldn't be treated any different. Everyone must stop all the fighting and talk about the issues they have with each other and not start playground fighting like children.

I think the world would be a much safer and nicer place to live in if people just talked and the governments around the world spent more money on talking than they do on fighting.
