World peace

What is world peace?

Here is one formal definition: the dictionary defines world peace as an ideal of freedom, peace and happiness among and within all nations. It is the professed ambition of many past and present world leaders. I would say that peace is the absence of violence and war, and that world peace is everyone coming together and not arguing. Essentially it means that everyone gets along. So, think about this the next time you are arguing. Think to yourself: do you really want to waste your time arguing when you could be making friends instead? Are you sure you want to hurt this person or their feelings and just create more trouble for them and yourself? Anyway, peace is a state of harmony, the absence of hostility. Today, world peace is generally understood to be the absence of war between two or more armies.

What is the culture of world peace?

A culture of peace can be found in valuing life and valuing others, in managing your attitude, behaving yourself and controlling your anger. Peace can also mean a state of quiet or tranquility, and an absence of disturbance or agitation. Many people find the natural world to be peaceful in this way. Rejecting war and violence, and tackling your situation and sorting problems out is the best thing to do. If you just argue you will get angrier and more upset because you will want to get that person back and the same thought will occur to them.

Who does world peace affect?

What I am trying to point out is that there are innocent people or victims in the world who are suffering from other people causing damage and ruining their lives. Sometimes people want to prove that they are in charge and want to make people suffer by dropping bombs on them. That just causes more damage, and that's how I think arguments and terrible situations contribute to war.

World peace through inner peace

Many people believe that world peace can only be achieved if we first establish peace within our minds. The idea is that anger and other negative states of mind are the cause of wars and fighting.

Threats to peace

Civil war, state-sponsored genocide, terrorism and other kinds of violence are all threats to peace. Since World War Two, wars among states have become less common while violent internal conflicts have become more numerous.

Beliefs

Many environmentalists believe that protecting the environment is a form of peacemaking. Almost everyone is for peace and most people see that promoting it is a matter of survival. Why then, are so many of us so passive? Why do so few invest time and money in peace? No one will ever know the answer. Peace has always been among humanity's highest values.

Conclusion

My view is that world peace is the absence of war between two or more countries, and that we haven't contributed to it the best we could have.
