Being good global citizens - what our class has been doing this term
St Mary's Primary School
Australia
What a fun term we've been having here at St Mary’s - totally fun, fun, fun! Why? Well, because this term we have been learning about how Australia is connected to the rest of the world! And, we haven't just been learning about clothes, food and folk dancing. We have been going further by learning about imports and exports, communications, travel and tourism, treaties and agreements, and how we are deeply connected to so many countries in Asia.
The students in our class have broken into groups and investigated all of these issues by selecting one country from Asia as a case study. Our group was made up of Charlotte, Vanessa, Kimberley and Latiesha. We have been researching the important cultural features of India. We have been really enthralled to learn about Indian culture, language, dress, and festivals. We have also learnt about the wide range of goods and services that India now exports to the world. We definitely agree that this unit of study has helped us to understand our global community so much better. It's been so much fun as well. We look forward to sharing a multimedia presentation with you soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What do you think 'Namaste' means? 'Hello', of course, in Hindi. We think that learning other languages is one of the best ways to communicate with other cultures and to be globally connected!!
'Namaste' everyone. We hope you have a good global e-conference.
