Guidelines

Hello everyone!

There are just a few things to remember if you’re taking part in this online conference.

First, you need to be aged between 5 and 18-years-old.

The next most important rule is to 'be friendly and respectful'. Everyone here has joined the online conference to talk about global citizenship. Not everyone will have the same ideas about that – and you might strongly disagree with the ideas of some people – but we also need to respect the right of everyone to express their opinions. And apart from that, we all want to have fun and enjoy the chance to chat with other students from around the world.

The third rule is about privacy. We wish we didn't have to make this sort of rule but we need to make absolutely sure your personal contact details aren't out there on the internet for everyone to see. So, for this online conference, this strict rule is: 'no surnames, no email addresses or personal website addresses, and no other personal contact details, such as telephone numbers'. Sticking to this rule is one of the conditions you must agree to if you want to take part in this online conference.

The fourth rule isn't really a rule – it's just a bit of nagging! This online conference is a chance for you to share your ideas with a huge audience of students in many countries. Sure, you can sit back and watch others chat online – but it’s heaps more fun if you throw away your shyness and have a chat to others in the online discussions. It's the same old thing you hear a lot from your teachers and parents – if you put a lot in, then you get a lot back.

And that’s all! Have a great time this week!
