Centre stage – Days 6 & 7: Question time

The following questions will provide the focus for discussion during days 6 and 7 of the online conference.

  1. How does the structure of your curriculum reinforce certain learning styles and behaviours in your school?
  2. How can we tap into the ideas and experience of the school community in curriculum review?
  3. If we started afresh, is there any compelling reason why we’d make a curriculum based around subject content?
  4. Could more youth-friendly and creative changes to the use of time improve student engagement? Consider changes to starting and finishing times, the term/holiday structure, the traditional five-day school week, the length of lessons and breaks, and so on).
  5. How do schools overcome, or sensitively work with, family and culture-based factors that may negatively impact on optimal student engagement?
  6. How does the physical design of a school impact on student learning? Consider classroom shape, size, furniture, use of colour, ventilation and heating, green spaces, ease of access and noise minimisation.
