‘Leading Successful Schools: Sharing the Wisdom’18-31 August 2008 Association of Northern Territory School Educational Leaders ANTSEL is pleased to invite you to ‘virtually attend’ (and maybe contribute a paper to) the first video online conference to be held for school leaders in Australia - and probably even the world. In an exciting development, the internet-based conference will feature customised videos that have been created specifically on the topic: ‘Leading Successful Schools: Sharing the Wisdom’. The videos will feature a range of selected Northern Territory principals and key education policy makers, who have been filmed, on location in the NT, giving their answer to the following questions. Focus questions
No special software, equipment or technical skills will be needed, other than a computer that is connected to the internet. Message boards, where conference participants can discuss the focus question of the day online, will operate 24 hours a day, for the first seven days, for maximum convenience. Each day’s discussion will be hosted by a school leader from the NT, and there is no minimum or optimal participation time. The conference will also feature music provided by Maningrida School, one of the NT’s remote Indigenous schools. Register to participate at no cost If you are interested in taking part in this video online conference, please register online at the following website: www.cybertext.net.au/antsel2008.htm so that you can receive the necessary conference updates and the conference website address, once it is created (we will email you with this address a couple of weeks before the conference starts). There is no need to provide a video, paper or audio file in order to ‘attend’ this conference. We want as many school leaders as we can viewing/reading/listening to the conference materials and ‘talking’ about them on the message boards. Can you provide a short paper or audio file for this conference? ANTSEL is calling for school leaders, aspiring school leaders and other interested educationists, from all States, Territories and countries, to provide short papers or audio files on any of the seven questions listed above. You are invited to email material by Monday 14 July 2008 to the Conference Manager, Ms Debra Brydon, at: brydon@cybertext.net.au Photos of the author/s of the paper or audio file, and their school, are most welcome – these should be emailed separately as jpeg files, saved at the highest possible resolution. *Please note: where students are shown in the photographs, it will be assumed that appropriate permission has been sought before the photo is submitted to the Conference Manager. If you are intending to send an audio file, please contact me for the technical requirements. Please Ms Brydon know in advance if you able to assist with material for this conference.
